China Initiative Workshop

From 19 February 2019 to 21 February 2019 | Beijing, China

This China Initiative Workshop will introduce and demonstrate the support we can provide to companies implementing sustainable sourcing in China. This will also offer an opportunity for our members to give their input on the most practical ways to set up “SAI Platform China”.  Over this three-day event participants are welcome to attend all or select the most relevant parts to their needs.

Day 1 – 19 February (Venue: Jianguo Hotel Beijing, 5 Jianguomenwai Dajie, Beijing)

• Introduction to SAI Platform
• Half-day session with our members to present their individual strategic priorities, and identify common ground to work collaboratively on sustainability issues
• Discuss the establishment of SAI Platform China and possible governance structure and funding model

Day 2 –  20 February (Venue: Jianguo Hotel Beijing, 5 Jianguomenwai Dajie, Beijing)

• Introduction and workshop on SAI Platform’s FSA – Farm Sustainability Assessment.
• Examples of the FSA tool in practice from our members and other stakeholders to demonstrate its use and value. Members are welcome to invite selected suppliers/buying agents to attend. 

Day 3 – 21 February (Venue: Tai’an, Shandong Province)

• Field visit to Giant Foods, in the Shandong Province, to identify challenges and opportunities in the region. Practical insights on how to use FSA to achieve your sustainability objectives.
