Sustainability Indicators and Measurement Tools

Over the last ten years, SAI Platform and its member companies have been encouraging farmers to adopt good practices - as per SAI Platform's Principles and Practices (P&Ps) for sustainable agriculture. Througout this process arose several challenges. One of them was the identification of relevant indicators and tools to measure progress.

Consequently, SAI Platform conducted a wide range of projects aimed at identifying the best existing indicators and tools, and/or when necessary, developing new ones. The main projects are the Sustainability Performance Assement (SPA) project and the development of a TOOL to assess the financial sustainability of farms.
